Corner Cottage
The House
Corner Cottage is a large house built around 1850, on four floors; basement, ground, first and attic floors. It sleeps up to 9 people comfortably, with two double beds and a twin on the ground floor, and three single beds in the attic room. There is also a cot. In common with most houses in Polruan, the sitting/dining room is on the first floor to take full advantage of the spectacular views across the river.
The basement provides extensive storage for sailors' equipment, as well as a play area, including pool/snooker table, dart board and table football. There is also a large fridge/freezer for use by large groups. The sitting room is equipped with HiFi, TV, Blu Ray DVD and on-demand TV services, with a collection of books. It has a large dining table seating up to 10 or 12 (at a push). Free access to wireless broadband is also provided. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, hob and oven, large fridge and a kitchen table ideal for breakfast.
The views from the house and the garden, which has ample space for seating using the garden furniture provided, are excellent and a special attraction for the house. Many a time we will just sit and watch the view.
